Ipod Touch working with Itunes 12.12.2.2 on Windows 10 system

Hello All,

I have a Ipod Touch (6th Gen) 128 GB software version 12.5.5. When i open Itunes (12.12.2.2) on a Windows 10 machine. The ipod is not recognized. It connects to the computer and asks to trust the device but other than that, it is not recognized in Itunes? Anything I can do to save my music? Also if I get a new ipod Touch (256GB) will it work with the version of Itunes I have on my system?? Thanks in Advance for the help with resolving this.

1) If your computer doesn't recognize your iPhone, iPad, or iPod - https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204095

2) Yes and in any case you will be able to update your iTunes on a PC for free.
