Just bought W6800X Duo and Updated to Lates Monterey, now cannot use Photoshop anymore.

Has anyone having issue using Photoshop with W6800X on Monterey 12.2 (21D49) ?

Just bought W6800X Duo and now cannot open Photoshop anymore. Cannot open any images and even create a new file. Just keep crushing constantly. Only way to use Photoshop is to Turn Off "Use GPU Processor" under Performance.

I checked whether the W6800X Duo is compatible or not but its all green.

Is it because of Monterey Lates update or because of W6800X Duo or Photoshop itself ?

LOL if I say its Photoshop fault and adobe won't agree and neither Apple. Now I am stuck between.

Just reinstalled a fresh OS to see but same issue. Nothing change. just wast of time by doing that.

I am using 3 GPUs. W6800X DUO, W5700X and RX6900XT.

if you have any solution, please kindly let me know.

Thanks in advanced.

Hi,

Sorry, I couldn't wait and did another 2 times fresh installation of Monterey and now Photoshop is working as usual. Don't know what did I wrong in previous OS or Photoshop Installing stage. After 2 times fresh installing the OS again, I can confirm it is now working.

Thanks a lot for the reply !

Hey mrzayar,

It appears that, after having purchased an external GPU, you're finding that you no longer can use Adobe Photoshop, and we're glad to provide assistance.

Photoshop graphics processor (GPU) card FAQ -- See if anything here helps. If not, continue below.

How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support -- While we don’t have a solution, we do have a couple of isolation steps to try. Restart your Mac in safe mode and see if Photoshop opens. If it does, restart your Mac normally and test. (Please be aware: "When you start up in safe mode, your Mac prevents some software, such as startup items, from loading, and it performs a check of your startup disk. Your Mac may take longer to start up because of the check.")

New user or group setup - Apple Support -- If it either doesn't work in safe mode or doesn't after restarting normally, create a new Administrator account and test the issue there.

Please let us know the results when you're able by replying to this post.

All the best.
