Can I add another person's phone to my Find My app?

My father is getting up there in years and he recently lost his phone. Luckily he found it. I would like to set up his phone on my Find My so I can find it for him the next time it is lost. Is this possible?

Yes and in two ways.

The first is by him signing into his account at www.icloud.com and you can see his device in the Find My tab.

Another way is to set up a Family Sharing group and sign him up to your group. Family group members can see the location of each other - and all the devices signed into each iCloud account. Before that can happen you need to make sure Find My is on and to check that his iPhone is giving permission to share. See Settings > [Your Name] > Find My > Share My Location set to On.

Or you could just simply share location without a Family Sharing group. This is done in the Find My app via invitation and acceptance.

Share locations with family members and locate their lost devices on iPhone

Share your location in Find My on Mac

Apple has some instructions in the support document Use the Find My app to locate a missing device or item
