Apple TV Photos App

Apple TV Photos App.

When I Home Share My Photos Via Itunes From My PC To Apple TV, It Will Not Recognise Nested Folders, So I Seperated All Folders Out Into Single Tier Folders, 600+ Folders, 120000 Images, Which I Have Optimized Them Using JPeg Mini, Which Makes My Images A Smaller File Size.

Now If I Want To View My Images, I Need To Connect To My Apple TV, From My PC, The Day Before, So My Images Get Through, I Can Not Just Turn On Apple TV & All Images Appear. Anyone Having This Problem, Everything Is Up To Date, I Have Had Numerous Phone Calls To Apple Support Over The Years, Its Still The Same. I Was Wondering If I Bought A 2TB iCloud, They Would Cast As Soon As I Started Apple TV, And Casted My Photos From The Cloud, I Have Windows 10, And High Spec Hardware.

Home Sharing photos can be viewed on Apple TV through the Computers app, not the Photos app.
iCould Photo Library photos can be viewed on Apple TV through the Photos app.

Home Sharing photos can see one folder layer deep, with folders as albums. Nested folders will be ignored.

View photos from your Mac (or PC) on Apple TV - Apple Support

Changes to the photo collection will be updated after a reset of Home Sharing (or restart of iTunes or computer).

Hi Urquhart1244, For your prompt reply, possibly got my wording wrong, "Yes I Do Use The Computer App" on Apple TV, where then I view my photos via "Photos" within the computer app.

The big problem, it takes nearly a day for these images to pull through = "Cast" from my PC - Apple TV - Computer App - "Photos", - I was wondering, if using icloud, this may be a better choice for quicker access to view my photos.

120,000 images is a lot. Maybe not a lot for you to have, but a lot to display on the TV in one viewing session. A slideshow at 5 seconds per slide, that is 166 hours of viewing, or a week/24/7. Maybe you don’t have to load everything all the time. Be nice to your devices. Do just a sub-selection this week.

Home Sharing slideshow steams the photos almost live, one at a time. The computers acts as a server for this. The stress is on the computer, not so much on the Apple TV.

iCloud use would put the load on some remote server, that is optimized for such use. I have no experience with such large numbers of images, though.
