Audio Issue with MacBook Air built in speakers

MacBook Air M1 2020 version

Monterrey 12.2

Playback seems like it has phase issues coming out of built in speakers. Turned off all sound check options, etc.

Audio/Midi setup configure speakers set to stereo

  • When clicking test button on left speaker - there is a phase issue and clearly some sound coming out of the right speaker
  • When clicking test button on right speaker - everything sounds correct and no audible sound coming out of the left speaker.

Anyone else having strange playback issues and or know a remedy. Laptop is 2 weeks old and under apple care. Yes, I know it's under warranty, but is this a know issue. I am not near a Genius Bar.

I have not seen that problem in this forum before.

Try booting to Safe Mode. That boot up takes minutes and clears caches and other things that may resolve your problem.

How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

A lot of times just boot to Safe Mode followed by normal boot resolves problems.
