Without having any idea which features a new owner would appreciate, all we can do is suggest you compare the features of the watches Apple currently sells in this link --> https://www.apple.com/watch/compare/?afid=p238%7CA3bG9u7R-dc_mtid_1870765e38482_pcrid_78546544428702_pgrid_1256741980178125_&cid=aos-us-kwbi-watch--slid---product-
Personally, I would skip Apple Watch Series 3. It's old, lacks memory and is only there in my opinion to offer a low cost option. Look at Apple Watch 7 or Apple Watch SE as the most current models.
Apple released Apple Watch 7 in October 2021. Apple typically releases a new model every fall, so one can expect a newer model in the fall of 2022.

I'm a new Apple Watch user, three days. I did some research before I bought and settled on a new Apple Watch SE, it does everything I need and has fall detection. Here in the UK they are being offered at a good price.
If you look around this forum a lot are going back to the series 6 or leaving Apple altogether because of the Apple Watch series 7 problems.

Battery drain on watch series 7 - Apple Community
Please quantify a lot? You can't of course, because you have no basis to back it up with facts. If you believe from reading some posts here that's a LOT, you'd likely be very wrong in comparison to the millions upon millions of Apple Wach Series 7 sales of which the vast majority aren't here complaining. Perhaps it could be because they have no reason to complain.
I personally have two Series 7 watches in my household. Both are perfect, with no battery drain or any other issues.
This too is worth looking at.
Bear in mind that it is a fraction of buyers that use this forum and so what you find on here is pretty representative of the what is actually happening
Battery drain in WatchOS 8 on Apple Watch… - Apple Community
I think you meant your response to my response to you, yes? Regardless, this is the most widely used Apple forum in the world for all devices Apple sells. Given the high number of devices Apple sells, your assertion the number of responses is representative of what is actually happening, I assume means to you at least, to the majority of users?
That would be a bad assumption. Throughout my years on this forum, when something was really amiss with a device there would be thousands and thousands of posts about it. These threads about battery drain are in essence miniscule in comparison. And in fact, are a teeny tiny percentage of the millions of watches now strapped to the wrists of users around the world.
You are absolutely wrong in your assumption that I mistakenly sent this further input to the OP and it was meant for you. Why would that be.
Please understand I clicked on reply to the OP and this is to the OP.
Obviously as you said you have 2 perfectly working AW7 watches and you are so happy with them so no help needed for you is there.
OK. That's fine. I'm still going to continue letting the OP know that "most" people are NOT having issues with Apple Watch 7. You can continue asserting your point as well.
To the OP:
I have had my watch on my wrist since just before 8:00 AM this morning. The bottom circle is the current battery percentage remaining at the time this screenshot was taken. I have not necessary done anything battery consuming with my watch, other than take a Blood Oxygen reading, read a few notifications from apps tied to my watch and read some text messages.
