How to disable a fraudulently purchased iPhone?

Hi. I became aware of an Iphone that was purchased fraudulently with my debit card. It was delivered to my old address as I just moved and the thieves picked it up. It seems like Apple isn't capable of disabling it. I now have the invoice with the serial number. I will probably get my money back but I want to disable the Iphone. I hate thieves with a passion and I don't want them to get away with this. Can't Apple find out who's possession the Iphone is in and report it to the police?

You can't do that and Apple can't intervene and do that without a court order.

Let the police deal with it. YOU need to file a police report.
