Monitor Fresh Rate changes automatically by MacOS Monterey and Bluetooth Issue . . .

My Mac Pro is using 3 Monitors and one is Asus ProArt PA32UCX-K. After waking up the computer from sleep, the Monitors's arrangement seems reset by the system itself.

1) I set the system to use my monitor as "Separate Display" but after waking up from sleep it went back to "Mirror" .. Not only that

2) The PA32UCX-K was set different resolution from others and it set back to default and . . .

3) I found out the Monitor's refresh rate was set 30 Herts. The 60 Herts was completely disappeared to choose.

The only way to fix this issue is to Restart the system and set all setting back manually.

Got another issue after Restart the system which is Bluetooth. All my apple Mouse, Keyboard are not useable at login screen. I had to attached the cable to my keyboard to type the password. They system do not recognised the keyboard, mouse at all. Had to repair again in the system.

I have already tried to see by installing fresh copy of macOS Monterey about 3/4 times but still happening. It is not all the time but randomly.

I am using 2 x W6800X Duo

Is it my MacPro issue or OS issue ?

Mac Pro, macOS 12.2

I do not see any lock in report. Can you please explain more and are you sure you are in right place ?

I think that post may have been meant for some other thread...

I will take a look at your Etrecheck report.

There is nothing of concern regarding the X86 applications. Your mac has an intel processor, anyway, so they run natively on your machine. This warning is there because newer applications may be "universal", meaning that they include native code for both Intel and Apple Silicon macs.

Did not know the apple Thunderbolt 3 to Lightning cable use 25% even I don't charge and hanging around.
One thunderbolt 3 device is using 25%.
I removed Samsung T7 SSD and two apple Thunderbolt 3 to lightning cables and it is showing all green now .

That is good to know. With all that power available it is easy to forget that even that is finite, and some allocation of resources may be necessary. I wonder if that could be also related to the low screen refresh rate.

If that is where the card was connected, and the PCIe bus was overloaded, maybe that was it?

It seems a bit counterintuitive to have the OS running from such a big rotating hard drive.
Nothing there that explains the issue at hand, but it seems a bit counterproductive to boot such a powerful machine from an HD. Boot times and application launch times may be hampered by this. It seems odd.

Thanks for the Reply. Allow me explain How I am using and setting up these Drives.

I bought the Mac Pro with 1TB but a week a go I replace with 8TB Apple SSD. Which is my main OS Boot Drive. I must admit that I got over 3300MB/s with 1TB but this monster 8TB is just around 3000MB/s (Attached)

My Mac came from Apple with Promise J2i with 8TB Toshiba HDD but its not enough and speed is slow. So I just bought 2 x Toshiba MG09 18TB and trying to use with RAID 0. individual disk can get 250MB/s but raid is getting around 570 to sometime it can reach to 630MB/s while real world Transferring. I am not using anything except to keep some large data. Is it really bad to use HDD even for DATA ? I have plan to change 2x 8TB SATA SSD. Maybe I should get just 1x 8TB SATA SSD which is same cost of my 2x MG09 18TB though.

I also have WDSN850 1TB NVME which is using with Sabrent PCIE adapter at SLOT 7 at X8 lane for Cache purpose. I am getting faster than Apple SSD. I thought Apple SSD should faster but don't know.

Additionally I am using Sonnet 4x4 NVME Card (Silent) with 4x 2TB of WDSN850 at SLOT 7. I am just getting 6000MB/s

Maybe this slow speed is because I am using at SLOT 6 at X8 Speed. I might get faster speed at SLOT 5 with x16 but Afterburner is using SLOT 5 and have no option left but SLOT 6 at x8.

However the Slot Utility showing like this.

Don't know how to adjust to get it right.

Samsung T7 is customer disk with FOOTAGE to copy to my Toshiba MG09. I think NAS might be better solution but cannot afford to get one now :P

I am not sure all of this disks might cause the Monitor Refresh Rate issue and Bluetooth issue. Do you think they are connected to Monitor Refresh Rate and Bluetooth issues ?

Regarding the Crashed

There are these crashes:

These apparently are related to the T2 chip. This chip provides some of the security features in some intel macs since around 2018 or 2019, including the Mac Pro.

I cannot say if these have anything to do with the display issue - probably not.

I looked inside the file and found the following. All files are same info.

{"bug_type":"115","timestamp":"2022-03-07 18:40:06.00 +0000","name":"Reset count","os_version":"Bridge OS 6.2 (19P744)","incident_id":"C394C65B-24B6-495B-B628-0C2F2BC81477"}

Reset count: 0

Boot failure count: 2

Boot faults: btn_rst,button1_reset

Boot stage: 48

Boot app: 0

I don't know what is that mean but I haven't done force restart.

Returning to the display - how is it connected? Thunderbolt? HDMI?
I see that you have several graphics cards too. Does it make a difference to which card the display is connected, or if it is connected to one of the built-in Thunderbolt ports?

I am using PA32UCX-K with thunderbolt 3 cable and AOC with HDMI cable.. This two monitor connected to first W6800X Duo card.

Third monitor, Phillips, is using RX 6900 XT (RAZOR eGPU, connected via Thunderbolt 3) via HDMI.

If you change the connection (assuming that is possible - with so many drives, I don't know), does it help?

I tried and but it doesn't. The Refresh Rate issue doesn't happen all the time. it just happen out of the Blue maybe once a day or in 3 days.

But Bluetooth is serious issue. As soon I restart the Computer I am seeing the following notice every single time till I click my mouse and trackpad.

Please kindly let me know.

Is this a "Magic Trackpad 2", the one that can connect and be recharged using a Lightning cable?
If so, you could "forget" this device in System Preferences->Bluetooth and then pair it again, by connecting it using the cable. Does that help?

Hi Luis, I did as you instruction and now I do not see any Bluetooth warning. Thanks a lot for your kind help. Really appreciate it.
