Initially, this worked fine (have only had apple watch a couple of months), now I feel a notification for phone call on my watch, hear iPhone ring but cannot answer on my watch. I am neither heard or hear other person, but my watch indicates that phone call is connected and seconds tick away. Neither my "do not disturb" nor my airplane mode setting is on.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Did you ever resolve this? I am having the same problem, and it's only very recently. I've restarted watch and phone, made sure all software is up to date. Very frustrating Apple!!
