I am trying to unlock a Pages document. when I click the "lock" button in the information box, a message appears saying the file cannot be unlocked but I can make a duplicate of the file. I put the file together and would like to delete it since I no longer need it. How can I turn off the "Lock" button and delete this file?

Thank you.

Quit Pages. Instead of attempting to unlock the document from the opened document title bar, or the open document panel, click once on the file in a Finder Window and press option+cmd+i to open the information panel, then deselect the Locked button. Then reopen that document in Pages 11.2.

Of course, if this document is on a non-Apple cloud service, or a mounted Share, you may not be able to remove the lock with Finder until that document is back on your Mac startup drive.
