What is your previous model Apple TV? Identify your Apple TV model - Apple Support

  • For the older Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation) there is no method to transfer client side settings and apps.
  • For Apple TV (4th generation or later), you can use the One Home Screen functionality to sync apps (and even home screen layout) between Apple TVs. First activate One Home Screen on the older device. Then set up the new one, and have it use the One Home Screen settings through iCloud to sync it. After syncing, you can then reset the old Apple TV if you sell it or give it away.
