Updating

Do i need to have a sim card in my new iphoen for it to update, as if got the new iphone 13 pro max and its taking forever to update ?

Yes you need a SIM card.

If you are satisfied and want to continue with the same carrier, you can use the SIM card from the ‘old’ iPhone.

That is also handy then you don't have to change anything, you use the same number.

If the SIM format is different, visit or contact your carrier and request a replacement SIM card, normally it is free.
