RAM is not the same RAM with Intel.
You can configure to 16 GB when order.
Note: M1 (unified memory) has direct access to RAM and is much faster and is more efficient.
It uses less power and performs better than intel.

M1 is superior by far.
You have significant more speed with much less power = lower electric bills.
16GB on M1 is the equivalent to 32GB on Intel because data is not being buffered from RAM to CPU = no lag in performance.
Because of this efficiency, the internal fans may not turn on (that’s normal with M1 SoC).
M1 is faster but Intel (officially) supports Windows, if you need it (I still do it via VM although Remote Desktop might a more sluggish alternative in M1. Windows Bootcamp in Intel would be the fastest but VM is enough for me).
M1 is much better.
But lower RAM will perform same?
