I cannot run mail on my new macbook as there is not enough storage. I have cleared excess documents, but the spare space created is filled up within a day, I think by automated background processes. you can see below that system data takes up almost all the 215 GB available. Is there any way to clear it without paying for a disk clearing tool like MacPaw?

SSD like to have 20-25% free storage at all times to work most efficiently.
Third party cleaners are NOT recommended, and tpically cause more harm then good on the macOS. Caveat emptor
