Apple Music Library

I have a two-fold question

I currently have an iMac 3Tb drive with 1Tb music library. I subscribe to Apple Music therefore many of my songs (cd’s, vinyls, legacy cassette mix tapes) have managed to upload to cloud however many have not.

I plan to upgrade to a new Mac Studio, with only 512 or 1Tb drive.

What is my best option? Upgrade new hdd and load library to new Mac internal drive, running local/cloud library?

Use external storage for music library, if so any suggestions on type/speed/connectivity?

Convert all library to icloud and run from there.

Any other options.

Any track can be uploaded in iCloud, regardless if it's your own recording or not. If the song si matched with Apple Music's catalogue counterpart, then the upload process isn't necessary. Otherwise your track is uploaded on Apple's servers.

You can keep your Music' library on an external drive. My library is too big to be stored on my internal drive, so it's stored on an external USB 3 drive.
