Why have I been charged.99 cents by apple for awhile. What is this for?

Another possibility is that the charge is for an upgraded iCloud storage plan. 5GB is free and 50GB is 99¢. See: Cancel upgraded iCloud storage by downgrading to the free 5GB plan. See instructions in: Downgrade or cancel your iCloud+ plan - Apple Support
