icloud drive files disappeared

Hello, since yesterday almost all my files disappeared from icloud drive. I did not deleted and can not see via web browse either.r

MacBook Air (2020 or later)

Thank you the answer.

I use iCloud for 10 years or more and I know how it works and how to set it up.

The problem 90% of my files disappeared one day to the next.

From both the local hard drive and the cloud.

The Customer Support suggested to update to the newest MacOS but an upgrade can not bring the files back.

Any suggestion?

48Gbyte of 2TB was used.

I had the solution: "Restore then from your backup. Then next time don't trust iCloud.”

It solved my problem.. :)

A. Check iCloud Directly:

Go to: https://www.icloud.com/iclouddrive

B. Exporting All of iCloud:

Disable/Re-Enable iCloud Drive:

As for where they all went, did you disable these items in iCloud Drive somehow? If so enable iCloud Drive on this Mac. If you have more than one device, then disable iCloud Drive on all devices, and then reasonable iCloud Drive on all of them.

Was iCloud Drive , desktops and documents box was checked , what was the status of iCloud storage , if it exceeds the designated storage limit any iCloud data including files will not be permanently saved it will automatically erase .
