Mail app on monterey

Hello good people,

i am having a very strange problem with a mail app.

Long story short: on the macbook i am having mailboxes/catalogues (in my primary email box), that i do not have on the server(email website login place). I thought that there is a problem with connection, so i removed and add mailbox - do not help. i still have folders on my macs mail, that my server do not see.

I thought that there is a connection problem, but i can send and receive emails very well.

I tried on different email app - thunderbird and it worked. Emails was downloaded just from server, without some strange mailboxes/catalogues that i see with my email app.

I tried to remove all files that i found in online helps from Libraries, but nothing helped. It s like the email app is holding information/files about my email and downloading it every time...

The worst part is, that i tried create a new user and the result was the same...its like somewhere mac os is having hidden files with my emails and mailboxes. Couldn't find it thought :(

Looking forward for any tips and help. Thank You!

Thank You Sir. Let me rephrase my problem then. How to totally wipe/clean email app on Monterey? Deleting mail folder in ~Library do not seems to work :( I also tried to delete cache etc. Nothing worked.

For problem accounts remove the account and add it back in—

Remove email accounts in Mail on Mac

Add email accounts in Mail on Mac - Apple Support

Add email accounts in Mail on Mac - Apple Support

Note—

• IMAP accounts stay on the server, so no local loss, when you re-sync

• POP accounts download and remove from the server—therefor save your inbox/sent box if you want them

• "On My Mac" is just that, local folders you created and moved mail into. So no loss

Thank You for the answer, but thats where problem is. i am using imap account, and my default "mail" app is downloading two folders that are no longer on the email host server(i have created them a few months ago). Its like default email app is still "remembering them" and bringing them back every time.

When i am using different email app like thunderbird email is working just fine and its downloading only the files thats on server. Removing account does not work for me.
