A MacBook Air cannot run OS X 10.4. The original MacBook Air launched with 10.5. But to factory reset, turn on your Mac holding the T key to activate target disk mode. Then, connect a FireWire cable to another Mac and open Disk Utility on the second Mac. Select the first Mac’s hard drive and click erase. Then reinstall tiger on the erased hard drive with a DVD/CD or a USB installer
