What is wrong if emails show no images?
Why do emails show no images ,only a box with a small blue rectangle and ? Is there a setting that needs to be changed?

Mail issues loading content in macOS Monterey 12.0.1
Open mail app select Mail>Preferences>Privacy disable :
“Protect Mail Activity” /
“Hide IP address” /
“Block all remote content”
I would start here and test...
