Charging case for Gen 3 iphone

I just purchased an iPhone Gen 3 and the charging case I used with my prior iPhone 7 will not work with the new phone.

The third generation iPhone was the iPhone 3GS, which was released by Apple in 2009. That antique iPhone did not accept any charging case.
