EXTERNAL MONITOR DELL NOT RECOGNISED AFTER MONTEREY UPGRADE

I upgraded to macOS Monterey 12.2 for my macBook Pro (15" mid 2018) and

now my external monitor Dell alienware is not recognized. I've successfully used a

Dell monitor with a usb C adaptor until this IOS upgrade.

In order to rule out the USB C port issue, I did try a different monitor brand, and for my surprise did work. So the issue is not the C port, not cables, not power, (the Dell works on different devices). When I connect my macbook Pro Dell AW doesn't work.

Already try the option button while clicking display in system preferences but

nothing seems to work to get the computer to now recognized the Dell AW 27 monitor.
