Delete key issues

Somehow I remapped the way my Delete key works. I now have to press - Control-Delete - to delete mistyped character.

How can I reset this so that the Delete key works -- each press of the delete key removes one character?

Reset keyboard defaults

>System Preferences>Keyboard
