hello my macbook isn't turning on. I last used it a few days ago, and it was at less than 20 percent. It's been charging for the last hour and still not turning on. I've tried holding down power on and it's not working still

After hearing the fan go off in my computer, I opened it and pushed the fingerprint button down (I didn't know I could do that), and I held it down and it finally came back on.
It appears, at least, according to a window that popped up, I tried to shut down the computer previously, and it wasn't finished shutting down.
Just as an FYI, the Touch ID button also has the same functionality as the on button on a Mac without Touch ID. You can use it to lock your screen, force shut down etc.
My MacBook Air isn't turning on even after charging.
