Deleting VTS_01.VOB files

I am trying to clean up my computer. Transferred my old time machine files to my new Mac Studio. Looking at my large files, I have several VTS_01.VOB files, looks like when I created lots of DVD videos with iDVD. Does anyone know if it's safe to delete all these files, considering iDVD no longer exists? Will I be able to still open my videos? I wasn't sure what these files are. They are rather large, 1 GB each. If responses can be "non-technical", that would be great since I know just basic info. :)

Yes, they are just files from a video DVD that you created. You can view then with Quicktime Player or the free VLC app before deleting them.
