Printing a PDF file

I receive pdf files on my iMac and my MacBook Air. Both identical files, can open and print on my Mac but not the Air. Error message says "The document could not be printed" then "There were no pages selected to print" Even though I have as default Pages to Print ALL.

I can print anything else to my printer.

I can open the pdf file in Preview and print from there.

I have always double clicked the file and Adobe Acrobat Reader (ver 2022.001.20112) brings up the print menu but now I get these messages.

iMac 27″, macOS 12.3
