Photos and albums missing in Photos App on Mac after upgrade

I had stored many photos from my external cameras in my Photos App on my mac. After updating my computer and the Photos App, all of the photos that are not from my iPhone or from the iCloud account have been removed. Wondering if that have been moved elsewhere on my mac or how I can recover the library.

Hi

Hold down the option key while starting photos. Is more than one library listed? If so, open each in turn to see if they contain the missing photos.

Just out of interest, if you have been using iCloud to sync your library, how come the camera images are not also in iCloud?
