How can I delete an old email address in my Apple ID?

I have two defunct email addresses - one me.com and one icloud.com - tied to my Apple account. My current email address is my Apple ID. But the two defunct email addresses still autocomplete all the time when I am emailing on my iPhone, which is driving me nuts. I can't see a way to delete them permanently so that this doesn't happen. Can this be done? Thank you!

You can't change/remove @iCloud.com, @me.com or @mac.com addresses unless it is an alias you created after the Apple ID was set up.

iCloud: About your @icloud.com, @me.com, and @mac.com email addresses.   *
