Keychain not found

Hello.

I’m currently having a problem with my MacBook Pro, on version 12.2.1. I got a notification that says “A keychain cannot be found to store” followed by a series of numbers and letters.

The options I have are to cancel or to reset to defaults. Whenever I click cancel, it just pops back up immediately, and when I try to reset to defaults, I have to enter my password, after which I hit enter and the notification pops back up as if nothing changed.

I have visited this article: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8081403?login=true

I tried some of the recommended solutions, but unfortunately have not been successful in resolving my issue.

Could I please request that someone guide me on what to do?

Thank you

Continue on you current path and suggestion from @Old Toad.

Only if that does not work out as in does not work - then and only then attempt the other suggestion.

And thank you too.

It is a pleasure to assist.

Having run the previous suggest Terminal Command and not finding the Monterey 12.3.1 update does not look good.

Would suggest restarting in Safe Mode. This will perform a Disk Repair, clear cache files and only load Apple Software, extensions and fonts. The boot up will be slow and can take some time - Normal.

Safe Mode does a few more things beyond what is written above. It will Only Load the bear minimum Apple Software for the computer to function. It will also, and very important to understand this, it will Not Load any Third Party Software or Third Party Kernel Extensions. Hat last part is important as some Third Party software may be causing the computer to not to see the update 12.3.1

Log into the Administrator Account of this computer and run that same Terminal Command again

softwareupdate -l

What does it say now.

Thank you for your reply.

I am currently busy enacting the suggestion from the user "Old Toad" to install the update from the App Store. Would you consider this course of action to be fine? Or would you say that I should cancel the update and install it using the suggestion you have provided?

Thank you very much for your replies and help here P.Philips. I really and truly appreciate you taking time out of your day to address my problems.
