iMovie will not import my videos into the timeline since recent update

I used iMovie earlier today and made 3 movies. Now, it has all the media present but will not let me move that media to the timeline. I did a force quit, restart and shut down with unplugging the computer and still having the problem.

Sometimes an update can disturb preferences. Try deleting/resetting the iMovie preferences and see if that fixes it. To delete/reset preferences open iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and select to delete preferences in

the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your old library to get back to your projects.  Deleting preferences is a safe procedure that will not cause data loss or disruption to your project.
