My phone says it can not backup my phone because there is not enough storage but iCloud shows that I have 3.79gb available. What am I doing wrong?

Even if you have 3.79 gb available that is not enough if the backup needs more than that
To check what size the next backup would be see:
If you can't back up to iCloud - Apple Support
Check your iCloud storage and Next Backup Size in iOS or iPadOS
If that is larger than 3.79 GB that is why

Thanks so much. That was it! It was showing over 9GB of photos. I deleted the deleted photos haha and it was able to backup.

Well that's what was weird to me. This is a work phone and I delete photos daily and have 0 at the start of the next day. There was over 1000 photos under recently deleted.
