Aligning text in a header in Pages

How do you align text in a header in Pages? All of the alignment options are greyed out.

Thanks

Because the header and footer fields are not table cells nor body text, the appropriate alignment tools , and ruler guides, are not available. By default, text content in these fields aligns left, or can be padded with spaces that you introduce.

Actually, the default alignment of data in the three header boxes (and in the three footer boxes) is determined by your choice of box to enter that data.

These three words were entered in the left, right and centre boxes of the Header in a new Pages document:

If you enter a longer text string into one of the boxes, it will flow into the adjacent box(es), maintaining the alignment of the box into which it has been entered.

Barry
