How can I permanently delete multiple trash folders?

I'm running Mac 12.3.1.

Multiple trash folders appear in mail. When I delete the duplicate trash folder, it just re-appears.

As a result, I have to delete both trash folders separately.

Moreover, even after deleting the emails in trash, they re-appear, sometimes days later.

As you've been told, each email account will have it own Trash mailbox.

You can't delete them as you've found out because they are needed and will be recreated if deleted. If you close the All Trash mailbox and just click on All Trash you'll see all emails in all Trash mailboxes without having to open each one individually.
