How to approve app purchases for child's iPhone if I have an android and no other apple products?

Let's start off by checking the helpful information in this article: Approve what kids buy with Ask to Buy - Apple Support. It explains that the Ask To Buy feature can be used after Family Sharing is set up. Family Sharing does require an Apple device to utilize.

We advise that you access the parental controls on your child's device itself, as explained here: Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support. Without an Apple device of your own, you will not be able to approve purchases.

HI I had this question too and everything i saw and read said that I could use this feature without having any Apple products myself outside of my phone. I just want to express how frustrating this is. It is causing me to consider returning the iPhone i just got and getting my child a different type of phone.
