How to install Big Sur on iMac?

My iMac crashed and it wants a disc to reinstall Big Sur, that was in stalled at a computer store and I don't have a disk, can I download Big Sur to a thumb drive to install on my desk top?


how do I download Big Sur to a thumb drive on my laptop, it want to update my laptop and that is not what I need

You may reinstall macOS to the iMac by rebooting from Recovery and following the instructions found in this article >
