I would like to add another iCloud email address without losing access to music and data associated with my current me.com email address (which is also my Apple ID). Can I add an additional email address that is an iCloud email address without impacting my Apple ID? Thx

Problem: Mail FREEZES when I try to add my iCloud email to it.
It won't let me save the settings
I can access the account on iCloud.com, but not in Mail on my computer. I get an IMAP server error. Huh?
If I try to change anything, the accounts pane freezes.

OK, was able to set up am icloud address, and it shows in my icloud web, but when I try to add it to mac mail, it won't add.
So while the Connection Doctor shows all green lights and I can receive email in that account, I still can't send from that account because "that address is not associated with my account". Huh?
Mail still crashes if I try to change the alias.
