My iPhone 6 won't update.

Without a clue, on supported build model version iPhone you've

to begin; can't guess where it may update to; or how far it can go.

Because those, over time, were built and later hardware didn't

exist back then. That's why some older models, can't possibly be

updated to a most newest recent one, at this late a time.

Maybe use above chart, to see where your iPhone could be updated?

If you have an iPhone 6 and it is running iOS 12.5.5, you have reached the end of the road for updates. The iPhone cannot be updated any further than this.
