My iMac G4 won't connect to the internet any faster than 25Mbps on ethernet or wifi. I know there's nothing wrong with my router because my Mac Studio connects at 680Mbps.
Here's the specs of the iMac:
G4 1.25 Ghz 17"
2 GB Ram
Mac OS X 10.5.8
Was it ever any faster?
That iMac had only a 10/100BASE-T ethernet port; it was not until May 2005 when iMacs had the modern 10/100/1000BASE-T port protocol. Those ethernet speeds are similar to wired connection speeds of our G4 eMAc that has the same port specs.
The wireless hardware is also slow on that model: Optional AirPort Extreme card (802.11b/g).
By comparison your Mac Studio is a race car. ITs comm specs:

Not sure what you want us to tell you… That machine is now at least 19 years old.
Not even sure how you’re managing to do a speed test given the fact that the browser is so old most sites won’t allow it to connect to them at all any more.
Interwebppc is a working browser built from TenFourFox (Firefox). Perhaps a "Apple" community is not the place to ask the question.
Is there maybe a usb ethernet dongle that would work? I'm sure finding something that is compatible with a PowerPC G4 running Leopard will be hard to find.
Nothing you would be able to buy today would have drivers for a PowerPC based Mac.
