my macbook is connected to my Vizio smart tv but the tv only shows my home screen, it won't recognize when I am on a website

What do I need to do to get the website I'm using on my Mac to be reflected on the Vizio TV screen. I've chosen the correct HDMI and have unplugged, replugged, turned on and off, etc

If you see your Mac's wallpaper but nothing else on your TV, then you can either drag the window off one of the sides of the Mac's screen until it appears on TV, or set the Display settings to mirror your display instead of extending it.

On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, click Displays , then click Display Settings.

Select your display, then choose Mirror for Display from the pop-up menu.
