Random unknown files keep reappearing

Hello!

I've had this problem for a long time, but have yet to figure out why it keeps happening. I'm pretty sure it was from some program or something I've downloaded in the past (I've downloaded a lot of things in the past couple years), but I can't figure out what, where, why.

These files keep appearing under my "Downloads" folder. It'll be a whole slew of them with jibberish names. I'll delete them, and then they reappear within a day or so.

They're all ".file" files.

Is there a way to track down what 3rd party software could be doing this?

Hi there sylvanHowls,

We'll need more information to see how we can help with the unrecognized files on your Mac. To start, do you have any third-party security software installed? If so, you may want to start by taking a closer look there.

Also, we'd suggest checking your privacy settings: Change Security & Privacy General preferences on Mac

Thanks!
