Icloud storage almost full even after deleting some photos and icloud drive

4.7 of my 5gb icloud storage is used up. I deleted some photos. I also have 1.2 gb of icloud drive being used so I turned offf icloud drive and even delete it but it is still also showing up in the little storage bar thing. So how can I get the storage thing to reflect the changes and deletions I made? I deleted the photos I no longer wanted from the trash and even checked the trash for the documents to delete it, there is nothing there for me to delete documents

I no longer have the issue. After leaving it along for a couple of weeks, I just check again and where it used to say iCloud Drive 1.2gb, it said Apple Books 1.2gb and I deleted it and now the 1.2gb is gone from my 5gb storage.

Hi BriThibodeaux,

It sounds like you have deleted the photos you don't want in iCloud as well as preeminently deleted it from the trash as seen in Manage your iCloud storage. If it's the case that you still see photos and videos taking up space in iCloud, could you still have photos uploading iCloud? If the amount of photos and videos you have on your device is still more than the allotted 5gb, and iCloud Photos is turned on, it could be filling this space with your current photos. If you no longer what to use iCloud Photos, see "How do I remove all iCloud Photos content from iCloud and my devices?" in Get help with iCloud Photos.

Hope this helps.

Have a good day.

You can got to setting on your device.

Click on “ General”

Click on “IPhone Storage”

Or you can click on your Apple ID under setting.

Toggle off any unnecessary apps.

Then click on “Manage Storage”

There are a few options available; I will list 2 options.

Option one

Go to Setting on your device

Scroll down and click on “General”

Scroll down and click on “iPhone Storage”

Scroll through the list and click on any unused or unnecessary apps list.

Then click on “Offload App” or “ Delete App”

Option two

Click on your Apple ID under the setting on your device.

Click on “ iCloud”

Scroll down through the list and toggle off any unnecessary apps.

Then click on “Manage Storage at the top.

Click on “ Backup”

Click on your device

Scroll through the list & toggle off any unnecessary apps listed under your storage.

This is only two of the several different options available. Hope it helps.

I just said I no longer have a problem with the 1.2gb of space in the 5gb storage. It used to say it was iCloud Drive using 1.2gb then I checked it about ah hour or so ago and it said l Apple Books using 1.2gb. I deleted the data and the 1.2gb finally deleted from my 5gb iCloud storage.

this is why I don’t like messing with apple support unless if I have to. I say I no longer have the issue and you people want to sit there and tell me what to do after I had the issue fixed and 99% of the time it’s me that fixes it.
