Brightness

When my phone turns off, the brightness goes down all the way, I have tried changing stuff in setting (like the auto-brightness) and nothing is working, does anyone know how I can fix it?

Your phone should go dark when its screen locks. It should light again when you press the Side button, touch the screen, or raise the phone to a near vertical position.
