Copy not move/transfer data from old mac laptop.

How do I copy all my data from an old laptop to new one? I want to keep both - one to travel and one at home. I want to replicate old one, not move/transfer data thanks

Use Time Machine to backup your older Mac. Use the Time Machine backup to put that data on the new Mac. This will preserve the data on the older Mac and let you move the data to your new Mac.
