Why do I not have the option for Default Web Browser on my 2018 Mac Mini running Monterrey 12.4 under system preferences/general? I am trying to get Apple Mail to open links in Google Chrome. Even though I have changed the default web app to Chrome, all links still default to Safari.

That would be the Preference panel within Safari. I am referring to using System Preferences > General, where you can set the default web browser.

Hmm, AFAIK, Apple has not changed the method to change the default web browser since macOS Yosemite thru Monterey. As such, the support article you arrived here should provide you with the steps to do so.

I just double-checked both of my Macs, currently running Monterey, and the option to change the default browser was located at: System Preferences > General
