HomePod mini connectivity in stereo

Both speakers play music independently, not the same track, often tracks I haven't selected from those stored on my iPhone 13 pro max.

On setting up both speakers I chose one to be the right hand speaker but wasn't asked if the other should be the left speaker.

Neither speaker appears in the list of bluetooth devices on my iPhone but there is a Bose Revolve+ device listed.

I've contacted the company who supplies my broadband and they tell me that their supplied home router from which my home wifi is connected is not the problem.

As I compose this question music suddenly played in stereo but it was intermittent, but on moving around various sections of my iMac the stereo cut out.

Tried to use Airplay but that I all problematical.

First HomePod is not a BlueTooth speaker, it connects using the AirPlay protocol. See Set up a HomePod stereo pair - Apple Support and try splitting the pair and then setting it up again. If I recall correctly iTunes for Windows isn't able to use the stereo pair, and this feature is limited to AirPlay from iOS devices or Macs, or direct playback from an iCloud Music Library using Siri.

Thank you for your reply. Finally got both speakers to work in stereo, Now I only have to be able to access 6 months free Apple Music as offered on the UK Apple site, having purchased 2 HomePod Minis. I've been in a Chat with Apple for almost 2 hours to enable the offer, but they haven't been able to do so. Can you advise me please? I've done all they suggested - logged out of my Apple account, changed the password, logged out of iCloud, the list goes on...
