Where are Pages, Keynote, and Numbers in Monterey?

After upgrading to Monterey, the Apple apps Pages, Keynote, and Numbers have disappeared from my applications folder and computer. Just now, I re-installed Monterey (12.5) on my iMac, hoping that those apps would appear, but they did not. I tried downloading them from the App Store, but they won'e download!

Why are these apps not on my computer, and how can I get my 3 apps back?

iMac 27″, macOS 12.5

Pages, Numbers, and Keynote aree not bundled within the operating system and must be separately installed from the Mac App Store. For macOS Big Sur and Monterey, these are presently v12.1:

Pages

Numbers

Keynote

I tried for 2 days to install those 3 apps (using my usual Apple ID and password) from the App Store, and they downloaded but would not install. I re-installed Monterey (12.5) - and even restarted in Safe mode - and the apps were still absent, and couldn't be installed from the App Store! After dealing with numerous upgrades to my 2012 Mac Pro, 2009 Mac Pro, iPad Pro, and MacBook Pro, I have NEVER had this problem; Pages, Keynote, and Numbers ALWAYS came with the new OS - I never bothered to back up my applications folder. This must e a new Apple policy, for which there was no warning.

Many problems were documented - even on this support community - about the total loss of people's media files (I have a HUGE set of media files on my iMac) and other problems with Monterey. Several months ago, I upgraded the lap top (to see what I would lose), with no problems and all apps present. Thus, I didn't expect this problem with upgrading my iMac. I'm hoping that, in 4 months, when I trade in this iMac for a Mac Studio computer, the new software will come with ALL the Apple apps, as used to be the case, and that the App Store actually works!

Hi, VikingOSX

Thank you for your reply and those links! For some reason, Monterey won't allow me to install those 3 apps from the App Store. However, using Universal Control, I copied them from the Applications folder on my MacBook Pro 2016 and pasted them into my Applications folder on this 2019 iMac - and they work! Dragging would not work with these apps, only Copy/Paste.

Thanks again for your reply!

If you had installed the v12.1 of these applications on your 2016 Mac Book Pro running Big Sur or Monterey, then transferring them would work as they are the correct versions. Monterey should have let you install them unless the Apple ID associated with your Monterey installation is different than the Apple ID associated with these apps in the Mac App Store.

Copying the correct versions of these applications from another Mac, does not update the Monterey version of your Mac App Store installed applications history.

Good that you got this working…
