I have an original apple watch that I left off for about a year and now when I charge it up it is stuck in a boot loop. It only tried to boot when it is on the charger. I have tried pressing both buttons but to no avail

If the Watch has been sitting in an uncharged state for a year, the battery may be permanently damaged. Leave it on the charger for a couple of hours. Then, see if anything here helps:
