Hi,

Unfortunately, reports appear to indicate some problems with HP drivers and the newest macOS (12 Monterey) versions. The latest download from HP's support page for the M1212nf is an HPPrinterDrivers5.1 from Oct 27, 2021 (link provided by Rudegar). If this does not work, you could perhaps try the Apple package download HP 5.1.1 Printer Software Update (despite the system requirements). The download link contains 20211101, which could indicate a somewhat newer file. An HP LaserJet Professional M1210nf MPF Series version 1.4 driver is mentioned in the referenced article Printer and scanner drivers for Mac - Apple Support. However, do not expect it to work/install at all. Look upon it as an experiment only. Make sure that you have backup copies of all important files (documents, photos, et cetera) before testing anything. Also, it may be a good idea to reset the printing system between tests.

Sometimes, a printer driver download may contain drivers that actually would be compatible with a newer operating system version, but remain inaccessible because of a package/installer that is prevented from opening/working under normal circumstances. There may be solutions for this, but they are not supported. See also, for example, Old Samsung ML-1675 printer install for B… - Apple Community).
