I forgot my password to sign into my iCloud

I recently just had to purchase a new phone and had to change my email and information because I forgot my password to sign in to my iCloud and now I can’t get my watch to connect because it won’t let me sign it out of my old iCloud because I don’t remember my old password any help

old email is *****@gmail.com

new is *******@icloud.com

If you forgot the Apple ID (iCloud) password, enter the Apple (iCloud) ID, and click Forgot Password. See if you can get a Rescue or Notification email option if necessary. Link to contact Apple Support at the end of the 2nd article.

So is it the Watch itself that’s requesting the password for the old Apple ID? I’d say just go ahead and erase the Watch, but wouldn’t want you to be locked out of it, (Activation Lock). Also, are you signed in with the old Apple ID on any other devices?


Are you getting prompted with the old Apple ID when trying to erase the Watch?


If so, and you’re not signed into any other devices with this Apple ID, you may have to first request Account Recovery to recover that Apple ID:

Or you can submit the Watch receipt to Apple to remove Activation Lock:

If Activation Lock isn’t the issue and you can’t erase the Watch via its Settings, you can erase it this way:

Hey there!


Can you say if you changed the email that's used for your Apple ID, that it's the same Apple ID, but just using a new email address? Or was a new Apple ID created?


Likewise, Are you saying the Watch is still paired with the previous phone? Or did you restore a backup onto your new phone, and it's showing the old email address in your Apple ID settings? And that's preventing the pairing of the Watch?


if it’s a brand new Apple ID, was the Watch properly unpaired from the previous phone? And likewise, is the Watch showing as if in Activation Lock?


Can you say specifically what issue you’re running into when trying to pair?

New email address and new Apple id and the watch is still linked to the previous phone which totally went dead and won’t turn on for me. I’m locked out the email because I can’t remember the password used for it. So I just had to create a new email and Apple ID so I can use this phone I just purchased and now I’m just trying to pair my watch
