Apple ID problem

I reset an old iphone 4s to give to my nephew but I left find-my-iphone on and now it asks me for the password to my apple ID and I don't remember it from years ago. The Apple ID isn't even registered anymore on itunes.

What do I do?

If you are the original owner, contact Apple. Apple can remove the ID  if provided the required paperwork to include the original purchase receipt with the serial number on it.

Request additional support for unlocking your device.    -

You used to be able to take the device, the original purchase receipt with the serial number, and a photo ID to the nearest Apple Store (if it has reopened) and have them remove the ID. This may have changed, so call the store before going to make sure they can help.

My first iphone I used a rogers email for my apple id. When I got a new iphone I was with Bell so I used a different email address for my apple id. I only recently dug out my old 4s to give to my nephew and wanted to reset it back to factory. I didn't remember the password for the old apple id but managed to reset the phone without it. Now because I never turned off find my phone it won't let me continue with the set-up without the password to my old apple id which doesn't even exist on the itunes server anymore.
